Be Part of the Movement to Help Inspire more Computing Science teachers

Scotland desperately needs more Computing Science teachers entering the profession. Who better to inspire university students to become Computing Science teachers than Computing Science teachers!

We know teaching is a hard job and comes with many challenges, but we also know how amazing it is a job where you can make a true difference in the world. Through Computing Science Scotland, we are working to spread the message about the rewards of being a Computing Science teacher and hopefully inspire more individuals to join the profession.

A recent report by Reform Scotland highlighted that the recent intake of Computing Science teachers was just 16. In 2022, it was 26, and from 2021 to 2016, the numbers were in the 40s. There are several ways you can get involved: recording a short video, speaking to undergraduates at your local university, running a stall at a university careers fair, and more.

We are seeking Scottish Universities who are interested in hosting a Computing Science teacher to talk, deliver a session or even for #TechComputingScience to be part universities career fair or similar opportunities for undergraduates to raise awareness of careers in Computing Science teaching.
