dressCode x Young STEM Leader award

We are delighted to say that dressCode is no part of the Young STEM Leader award. This means that pupils who help run a dressCode club can achieve their Young STEM Leader award that has SCQF points. Formal awards at YSL4, YSL5 and YSL6 – at SCQF Levels 4, 5 and 6 – are underpinned by learning outcomes and performance criteria for each level, all of which are credit rated and approved by SQA.

The Young STEM Leader Programme (YSLP) is an exciting new award that aims to spark greater interest and participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among young people in Scotland. Young people have the chance to inspire, lead and mentor their peers through the creation and delivery of STEM activities and events within their schools, communities, or youth groups.

The key aim of the YSLP is to facilitate the development of peer STEM role models to inspire more young people to develop an interest in STEM. Role models are an important part of what dressCode do and encourage schools that run a dressCode club to have senior pupils be involved in running the club and help to inspire the next generation.

You can find more about the dressCode Young STEM Leader criteria by signing into our dressCode club portal using your dressCode account. If you don’t have one you can sign up here https://dresscode.org.uk/get-with-the-program/
